Carter's is a family-run takeaway sandwich shop set within the historic White Swan Court in the market town of Monmouth, within the picturesque Wye Valley.
Established in 1067, Monmouth was originally the site of a small Roman fort, Blestium, and became an established, thriving town, after the Normans built Monmouth Castle circa 1067, which was the birthplace of King Henry V in 1386. Monmouth is home to the only medieval stone gated bridge of its kind surviving in the UK. |
About Carter'sCarter's was established by Melanie Carter in 2025.
After moving to Monmouth as a young adult, Mel fell in love with the town and put down family roots, raising two children. After several years working for a local bakery, Mel decided to take a leap of faith and set up her own shop when the empty unit at White Swan Court became available. After a complete refurbishment, Carter's was born. Carter's prioritises fresh produce made daily, delivered consistently by a familiar face known to the community. |
